WHAT WE DO

An innovative team of blacksmiths, tech enthusiasts, architects, engineers, and artists, we will use our combined skills to create the masterpiece you desire.

Fire and Iron, LLC, is a blacksmithing company established in 2003 to design and create artistic pieces of iron and metal for private and business clients across Arkansas and the Southeast US.

The commissioned pieces focus on hand-crafted works – including chandeliers, staircases and intricate door hardware – made from steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper and bronze. Fire and Iron also specializes in smaller pieces such as fireplaces and fireplace sets.

Most beauty is found in works that are designed and formed with great attention to proportion, detail and ethos of quality and timelessness. Fire and Iron strives to produce pieces made from heavy material that showcase the plasticity and resilience of metal, concentrating on its heavy and static quality and its ability to be free-formed and flowing. Methods have varied from forging by hand and powerhammers, using hydraulic presses and abrasives and using all forms of welding. Other techniques including punching, shearing and repousse have also been used.

OUR UNIQUE PROCESS

Although we tend to produce projects on a case by case basis, this is a guide to the services and project packages we offer to our clients.

CONSULTATION

The client will offer a description of what they have in mind, such as a rough sketch or photographs of examples.  Having a good idea of what is expected in the final piece before placing an order will save a significant amount of time and money. Clients may also offer initial ideas and give F&I carte blanche for the final design.

BRAINSTORMING

After the first point-of-contact, the next step is to meet the client face-to-face (or via a web conference).  Here additional sketches may be agreed upon by both the client and F&I.  A price estimate will be given at this time or very soon thereafter.

PROTOTYPING

The third step of the process is for F&I to build a 3D model of the final piece in CAD software and to draw up a contract.  The contract will provide a start date, timeline and delivery date, as well as a payment schedule and any other details associated with commissioning a piece.  The contract binds both parties to the project.

FABRICATION

Fabrication begins next, as detailed in the final contract.  Regular, scheduled contact between F&I and the client during this stage ensures a pleasant and smooth collaboration and accurate construction of the piece.

INSTALLATION

After the commissioned piece has been completely constructed, we will install it on the property.  Depending on the complexity of the project, this may take more than one day.  If any adjustments are needed, they can often be made on site.

OUR COMMITMENT

We are committed to upholding our most cherished values in every project and task we take on.

Fire and Iron LLC has used modern day technology and innovative thinking to redesign the age old art of blacksmithing. This company has made a name for itself in quality custom ironwork over the last 13 years. We will continue to develop and improve the art of blacksmithing and we will do everything in our power to breathe that knowledge into your individual project.
